At approximately 11:45pm on 01/03/12, deputies wre dispatched to a domestic disturbance in progress at a residence off of Tate Road in Crawford County. It was reported that numerous people were at the house and that a woman had recived injuries from being struck in the head.
Dupties from the Crawford County Sheirff's Office, along with a Trooper from the Mo. Highway Patrol and an officer from the Cuba Police Department responded to the residence and discovered six people at the home. During the investigation it was discovered that the six people were engaged in a party atmosphere.
Deputies could hear what sounded like small children yelling and began searching the area for them. Three children were located in a shed on the property. The children, ages one, two and four years of age had reportedly been locked in a shed approximately one hundred yards from where the adults were located. The shed was reported to have been turned into a make shift room with two beds inside. A thermometer located inside the room indicated that the temperature in the room was 45 degrees.
The Division of Family Services and the Juvenile Office was contacted and the children were released to other family members outside of the immediate home. The female that had sustained monor injuries from the domestic was located passed out in a mobile home on the property. She was transported to the hospital to be treated for her injuries and for a fit for confinement release. The other five men and women located in another shed on the property were taken into custody. Probable cause sttments were taken to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office for consideration of criminal charges.
On 01/04/12 the below listed warrants were issued from the Crawford County Court.
1. William L. Kerley, 12-CFARW-8, for 3 counts of Endangering Welfare of Child-1st Degree 568.045 RSMO a class C felony. Bond set at $10,000.00 cash, 10% or Professional Surety.
2. Jackie L Spanglo, 12-CFARW-7, for 3 counts of Endangering Welfare of Child-1st Degree 568.045 RSMO a class C felony. Bond set at $10.000.00 cash, 10% or Professional Surety.
3. Lorri J. Kerley Ferguson, 12-CFARW-11, for 3 counts of Endangering Welfare of Child-1st Degree 658.045 RSMO a class C felony. Bond set at $10,000.00 cash, 10% or Professional Surety.
4. Lorri J. Kerley Ferguson, 12-CFARW-11, for Resisting/Interfering with arrest, Detention or Stop 575.150 RSMO a class A misdemeanor, and Assault/Attempt Assault on Law enforcement, C/O, E/P, Hwy Wkr, P&P (Physical Contact) 3rd Degree 565.083 RSMO a class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $1,000.00 cash only.
5. Harold Floyd Kerley Jr., 12-CFARW-10, for 3 counts of Endangering Welfare of Child-1st Degree 568.045 RSMO a class C felony. Bond set at $10,000.00 cash, 10% or Professional Surety.
6. Harold Floyd Kerley Jr., 12-CFARW-10, for Possession of up to 35 Grams Marijuana 195.202 RSMO a class A misdemeanor and Tampering with Physical Evidence 575. 100 RSMO a class A Misdemeanor. Bond set at an O.R. Bond.
7. Jonathan Kenneth Kerley, 12-CFARW-4, for 3 counts fo Endangering Welfare of Child-1st Degree 568.045 RSMO a class C felony, Bond set at $10,000.00 cash, 10% or Professional Surety.
8. Rikki A. Sturgeon, 12-CFARW-6, for 3 counts of Endangering Welfare of Child-1st Degree 568.045 RSMO a class C felony. Bond set at $10,000.00 cash, 10% or Professional Surety.
William L Kerley and Jackie L Spanglo both have been released after posting a surety bond. All others remain in custody in the Crawford County Jail in Lieu of bond. All accusations of these crimes are just that until proven guilty in a court of law.
